ANOTHER MONTH HAS GONE BY? SAY IT ISN'T SO!

I can't believe that I did it again! Not blogging for an entire month?

I guess I've been focusing on other things...

Just an update...my family and I are doing just fine. I have been working on my novel yet once again with the fine critters at the Notebored. I have a very complicated novel on my hands that I'm trying to work thru...it's tough! It shows some promise so I'm not giving up--yet. I might have to make some major changes to make it work, but I'm trying to work thru it w/o that at this point anyway. My inexperience is glaring.

Although I love summer and all of the sunny days on the beach, I am starting to appreciate fall and winter more than I ever have before. Summertime, my family and I are very active and spend a great deal of time up north at our trailer. But the winter is a slower time for us, and we're able to catch our breath. This is the best writing time for me, and I really love it. I'm looking forward to those cold, snowy days with my computer on my lap...if you know me at all, you know that I HATE snow...I don't like anything about it, so for me to even state such a thing is crazy...but it is true. Of course, I wouldn't hate snow if I didn't have to get out in it every single day, but reality of it, is that I do. But if I have something to look forward to, it sure helps!
Nope, no skiing for me.

So...with all of that being said, I won't have any excuses for not blogging, right??

Thanks to my friends for waking me up and reminding me that I need to remember my blogger friends!! Forgive me!!

Thanks for stopping by and for your constant support!

Best,
-Lisa

I hate snow and cold too. And we might get a little snow this weekend...

The longer I live through another Minnesota winter, the less I find it possible to muster up even the strength to say, "I love winter!" Yes, I know it is a time of regeneration and we need the cold to really appreciate the thaw.....still, I HATE...HATE...HATE winter!

I will try to focus on the benefits of a long winter's night....I will wrap myself up in my down jackets, fur (faux, of course) lined boots, and go to the Department store and stock up on hand lotion! I'll slip my mittens on and venture out into the vast snowfall and look for the beauty in it! I will! I will! I really will!

Gone are the days of enthusiasm over a "snow-day"....meaning school is out. Missing is the joy of making a huge snowman while rolling into the snowdrifts made by the roaring snow plows! Absent is the appreciation for the regrowth that will surprise and delight one fine Spring morning! Still, I think I can appreciate the slowing down that life must take due to the risk of loosing life or limb in the sub-zero temperatures!

I'm trying--really, I am. :)

My hands are always freezing...they're cold from Nov thru June...not good!

Thank goodness, I'm not alone...there are so many Michiganders who love the snow and I feel like an outsider at times. Minnesota? Man, you guys even got us beat!

I walk around at work (which is always cold) with handwarmers that my family buy for me. It's ridiculous! I wear long johns in the dead of winter...nothing like adding a few pounds ;) And jeans become a necessity.

I tried really hard last year to enjoy the beautiful sight of the snow as it clung to the trees on bright, sunny days...it worked a few minutes until I started sliding thru an intersection, ha ha. Of course I'm exaggerating, but not by much ;)

Well, enjoy the journey, no matter what! (this is what I tell myself, too!)
